Interventions : Case Consultation

Case consultations are provided to a number of organizations in all project states to improve their advocacy intervention or organizational development. It addresses a variety of areas of partner’s interest, and provides them customized services. While partners in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were provided capacity building on monitoring right to food, mainstreaming RBA in their interventions, the organizations in Bihar and Jharkhand were involved in NREGA Campaign and study on NREGA, organizations in Rajasthan and Jharkhand were assisted in enhancing resilience towards drought through best practices available in the area. The intervention with partners on Uttaranchal and Indo-Nepal groups was focused on trafficking, migration, HIV-AIDS issues. In Uttar Pradesh, dignity of dalits and discrimination was the most important theme for case consultation besides right and entitlement to food.

Case Consultations in Project Areas

1	Bihar	NREGA, Agriculture, Food Security, Flood Rehabilitation, Project planning, reporting and campaign designing etc. Sustained efforts started on NREGA and flood rehabilitation programmes. Further consultations have been planned on food security and land rights etc.
2	Jharkhand	NREGA, Project Planning and Campaign Designing, Agriculture and Food Security etc. An intervention on agricultural research is under consideration with Manavi and campaign on NREGA has been instrumental in providing jobs to hundreds of rural population.
3	Madhya Pradesh	Right to food, hunger and malnutrition monitoring, election related work/advocacy, work with Human Rights Commission, Rights based approach. Further actions are planned to raise hunger death issues.
4	Chhattisgarh	Documentation and Right to Information, PDS Monitoring, election related advocacy, conducting public hearings etc. Sustained efforts on RTI and PDS Monitoring has started.
5	Uttar Pradesh	Rights based approach and advocacy strategy planning. A shift in organization’s skills and approach towards development can be seen and they are coming up with more structured queries.
6	Uttarakhand & Indo Nepal Group	Trafficking and rights based approach, use of national and international legal instruments and institutions in preventing trafficking.
7	Rajasthan	A series of workshops were planned on agriculture, food security, drought, women and NREGA. District magistrate of Chittorgarh after the meeting who assured to take appropriate measures.
